Training Practice

GPs in Training

Our practice is approved to train fully qualified doctors who are specialising in general practice. GP registrars have already completed 2–4 years of hospital training in a range of specialties. They consult patients independently and are supervised by our GP trainers.

Sometimes we ask for your permission to video a consultation for training purposes. You will always be asked in advance and you can decline without it affecting your care in any way. No recording will ever be made without your consent, and the camera will be switched off immediately if you change your mind. Recordings are used only for educational purposes and are securely deleted after use.

Medical Students

Medical students from local universities may spend 2–3 weeks with the practice as part of their training. If you prefer not to have a student present during your consultation, please tell the receptionist. This will not affect your care

Other Healthcare Students and Trainees

From time to time, the practice may host students or trainees from other healthcare professions, such as nursing, pharmacy, physician associates, or healthcare support worker training programmes. These placements help develop the future NHS workforce.

If a student or trainee is present during your consultation, you will always be informed. If you prefer not to have them present, please tell the receptionist or the clinician. This will not affect your care in any way.
