Chaperone Policy

We are committed to providing safe, respectful care and to protecting your privacy, dignity and cultural or religious beliefs at all times. If an intimate examination is needed, this will only take place with your agreement, and you will always be offered a trained chaperone to be present.

A chaperone is a member of our clinical or administrative team who has received appropriate training to support you during an examination. Their role is to provide reassurance, help you feel comfortable, and act as a witness to the examination.

You may request a chaperone at any time - when booking your appointment, when you arrive at the surgery, or during your consultation. In some circumstances, the clinician may also request that a chaperone is present.

If you have any questions or concerns about chaperones or intimate examinations, please speak to a member of our team.
