Repeat Prescriptions during the Covid-19 Emergency
We are keen to avoid paper based repeat prescription ordering to reduce infection risk:
Ideally order via My Health Online, the official NHS Wales service, which allows you to see your current repeat list.
Or order through your nominated pharmacy.
You can also use econsult to send queries related to prescriptions.
As a last resort, we will take repeat prescription requests by phone or fax.
Please nominate a pharmacy, so we can send your prescription direct to them minimise footfall in the surgery (you can do this via surgery reception or ask your pharmacy to let us know).
Local pharmacies are under severe pressure at the moment, so allow for this when requesting your prescriptions
If you are on long-term treatment, we will give a printed list of medicines, the repeat order form, attached to your prescription. You can then order repeat prescriptions without having to see the doctor every time. Allow at least 2 working days for your prescription to be processed. If it is after 15:00, allow 3 working days. Prescriptions will be available after 17:00.
If you want a prescription for anything not on the repeat order form, then you must discuss this with the doctor. Any requests for medication not on the repeat order form will not be processed.
Patients on repeat medication are likely to be asked to see a doctor, pharmacist or practice nurse occasionally for a check-up. Look out for a message on your repeat slip.
